And now, there\u2019s really no better time to pay another visit \u2013 because it has just reopened with a brand spanking new look after six months of renovation!What can you expect?Escape room extravaganzaSingapore Discovery CentreBust out your moves in a new escape room-esque experience, where visitors will take on the role of secret agents on a top-secret military mission. Each team requires two to five people, where you\u2019ll have to band together to solve puzzles in order to move from one room to the next. Expect multi-sensory elements such as UV lighting and touch sensors; will you make it out in one piece?\u00a0Did we also mention that this escape room is the largest multi-storey escape room in Singapore? Called the \u2018Black Lake Facility\u2019, each game costs $30 for individuals above the age of 13, and $24 for children between the ages of three and 12. Each game will take approximately one hour to complete. You\u2019ll be able to choose one of the four story chapters available, with each chapter telling part of an overarching story.\u00a0Tag, you\u2019re itSingapore Discovery CentreEngage in an exhilarating shoot-out against your friends at the new laser tag arena, where each player will be armed with a laser gun. The \u2018Black Lake Laser Battlefield\u2019 features the state-of-the-art HELIOS2 laser tag mechanics to allow for better accuracy and ease of use, as well as interactive projection mapping. Complete with \u2018bullet-proof vests\u2019 and neon lights, the whole experience feels a lot like an indoor session of paintball \u2013 but taken to a whole other level.Each game costs from $12 to $15 per person, and offers three categories to choose from: extraterrestrial, post-apocalyptic, and cyborg.\u00a0Walk through historySingapore Discovery CentreSingapore Discovery Centre has also revamped its permanent gallery, ‘Through the Lens of Time’, which showcases the Singapore Story. Dating back to the 14th century, the gallery sheds light on events such as the Japanese Occupation. Check out the theatre that has been decorated to resemble a bunker, or the large screens that offer a more immersive viewing experience.\u00a0Do note that only half of the gallery will open to the public in mid-November, with the other half being slated to open mid of next year. Admission is free for all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents; tickets otherwise cost $10 per adult, and $8 per child. There will also be guided tours from 21st November 2020. Available in two-seater($5) and four-seater ($10) boats, these pedal boats make for a great activity that\u2019s suitable for the whole family.\u00a0Add a little pop of colourSingapore Discovery CentreIf you prefer a little more adrenaline, the Crossfire Paintball might be just up your alley. Comprising Singapore\u2019s first and only multi-tiered paintball arena, the paintball experience pits teams against each other \u2013 as they navigate a natural battlefield filled with various obstacles.\u00a0Each game lasts for 90 minutes, and costs $28 per person.Play while you eatSingapore Discovery CentreBe spoilt for choice at the Wild Thyme Caf\u00e9, which boasts a menu that has been specially designed by celebrity chef Charlie Tham. From 31st October to 14th November 2020, their opening special even allows you to enjoy two main dishes at the mere price of $9.90! Indulge in the \u2018Japanese Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice\u2019, \u2018Penang Big Prawn Mee\u2019, or the \u2018Pan Seared Salmon with Basil Cream\u2019.\u00a0In partnership with the Mind Caf\u00e9, Wild Thyme also offers a wide repertoire of board games to play with. For $15, visitors can enjoy two hours worth of board games, on top of free-flow drinks and snacks.
