In the blink of an eye, almost half the year is over! Where has all that time gone? With phase 2 (heightened alert) still ongoing, here is how to occupy yourself this coming weekend.

1. Durian Fiesta at Goodwood Park Hotel

Yearning to sink your teeth into the king of fruits? Goodwood Park Hotel’s Durian Fiesta is currently ongoing until 1 August, and has rolled out a whole range of durian treats that are perfect for a decadent durian feast at home.

Check out their signature range, which includes the D24 mousse cake, D24 puffs, D24 ice cream, and the Mao Shan Wang ice cream. They have also come up with some new offerings this year, such as the D24 pandan waffle cake, D24 trio chocolate cake, mini D24 salted caramel delights, D24 and sweet potato chestnut tartlets, and the D24 kueh dadar.

Stay tuned for their monthly special which changes with the month – June’s edition is the Mao Shan Wang durian-misu. Other options include the Mao Shan Wang mousse cake, and the Mao Shan Wang power puffs. A three-day advance order is required; take advantage of various card promotions.

2. Pink Fest

June is known as Pride Month, where the LGBTQIA+ community comes together in a vibrant celebration. The annual Pink Fest will run for the entire month, championing the mission of “bringing some fun, laughter, and lots of rainbows.”

Enjoy lots of discounts from brands that channel inclusivity, such as 21 per cent off storewide at Fitty Store, an athleisure label; 20 per cent off regular-priced treatments at Sugar(ed) for anyone wearing something pink; or receive a complimentary item with every purchase at Chocolate Anatomy. There are various events conducted on Zoom this weekend as well – chat with trainers from Baseline Fitness over a Zoom session, or learn more about bespoke estate and financial planning during a webinar. Check out the entire line-up here!

3. The Bride Always Knocks Twice – Killer Secrets

(Source: 实践剧场 The Theatre Practice / Facebook)

Rolled out by The Theater Practice, ‘The Bride Always Knocks Twice – Killer Secrets’ is an innovative interactive murder mystery that has been taken fully online. The format of the event is an interesting one: participants first watch a film, before coming together online to discuss what transpired. The premise of the film follows seven women from seven different generations. These women live together in a home harmoniously… until one of them is murdered. The game then follows a ‘Whodunnit?’ theme; participants can conduct interrogations with two out of five suspects – with the main aim of pinpointing the killer, and presenting a credible case.

The cherry on top of the cake comes in the form of the grand prize, which comprises S$1,000 cash, as well as a two-night staycation at Hotel Soloha. Participants can tackle this challenge solo, team up as a duo, or kill it as a team of three. The event runs until this weekend – it is not too late to join the party here.

4. Kids Virtual Race

June also hails the start of the school holidays. Keep fit as a family with Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon’s Kids Virtual race. Held on its Virtual Club platform, the event will run for the entire month of June. Your kid can pick from four different races, each of which boasting different distances.

Until 13 June, kids can compete in the 1.5km and 3.5km races; from 14 to 30 June, kids can compete in 2km and 3.5km races. Completion of any race also earns the little runner a digital badge.

Track and record their results on the Virtual Club site, and enter a virtual competition with kids from all around the world. The best part about the event is that it is entirely virtual. This means that they can run as and when they want, wherever they like. Parents can also run alongside their little ones as their ever-supportive cheerleaders. More details can be found on their website.
