Bored of the usual options and looking for something new? Singapore’s cafe scene is a vibrant one, with new places that are constantly innovating and presenting their own unique culinary take. Here are three newly-opened cafes that are perfect for catch-ups with your kafe-hopping pals:
The Baking Cloud
Answer the constant question of “what to eat this weekend ah?” with alcoholic desserts, courtesy of The Baking Cloud! Specialising in alcoholic desserts and drinks, this cafe shares a space with Level Ground Bar, and is the perfect place to have your cake (set on fire) and eat it too!
The Flaming Surprise (Yakult Soju Ice Cream Bombe Alaskan) is a deliciously creative spin on the classic Bomb Alaska, with freshly layered marshmallow covering moreish cake and soju ice cream. This fluffy confection is then doused with alcohol and flambéed, in a stunning display that looks as good as it tastes.
In the mood for a classic chocolate treat? Take a sip of the Hot Chocolate, featuring a handmade dark chocolate shell decorated with tiny hearts, which melts at the pour of warm milk to reveal fluffy marshmallows that rise to the surface.
Fans of cake jars should also try their Alcoholic Cake Jar, where light cream is balanced by crunchy granola to present a medley of textures; their Alcoholic Cupcake is no slouch either, with a generous shot of whiskey and rich chocolate cake.
