Phase 2 (heightened alert) is upon us, and that means no more dine-in at any food and beverage outlets. The future is bleak for the F&B industry – will those that managed to survive last year’s circuit breaker once again be able to weather the storm?

Let us do our part to help these businesses out. Here are some takeaway or delivery options – and promotions, might we add – to keep in mind when settling your meals:

1. Hawker food

(Source: Jess Liew / Facebook)

One of the hardest hit might be our hardworking hawkers, many of whom start their day in the wee hours of the morning. #Supportlocal by checking out the ‘Hawkers United – Dabao 2020’ Facebook group, which pushes out posts that promote various hawker stalls around the island. Posts are by either the stall owners themselves or, more frequently, by customers who do so out of goodwill.

You can find almost everything and anything in this group – think wanton mee, Korean food, fishball noodles, Western fare, cockles, and much more. Do refer to the individual posts for order instructions!

2. Tsuta Michelin-star Ramen

(Source: Tsuta Singapore / Facebook)

Tsuta is known island-wide for their scrumptious ramen, which has even earned them a coveted Michelin star. Now, you can do away with the usual long queue and enjoy a steaming bowl of ramen or don in the comforts of your own home!

To sweeten the deal, Tsuta is running a 1-for-1 promotion, where you can get two ramens or dons for the price of one. The individual dishes are priced from $18 to $24. Alternatively, you can opt for a 1-1 ramen or don set for two people from $38, which includes two ramen or don, one maki roll, one appetiser, and two drinks. Do note that this set for two is only available at their 313@somerset outlet.

That is not all: in May, get 10 per cent off deliveries by using the promo code “TSUTAMAY”, and 20 per cent off takeaways with the promo code “TAKEAWAYTSUTA”. There is a minimum order of $40 for delivery; free islandwide delivery is also available with a minimum spend of $60.

Place your order through their website now!

3. Little Caesar’s

(Source: Little Caesar’s Singapore / Facebook)

Nothing says comfort food like a good old slice of pizza. Check out Little Caesar’s, which is actually the U.S.’ third-largest pizza chain! The best part? Their pizza won’t break the bank.

Take your pick from two categories – the ‘Classic’ and ‘Specialty’ – which spans seven flavours. Their classic pizzas go from just $7.99, with flavours such as Pepperoni and a delicious sounding Hot-and-Ready Cheese. The specialty flavours include Bbq Chicken, Hawaiian, and a Veggie pizza. The 3 Meat Treat rendition caught our eye, appealing to meat lovers with its power-packed combination of pepperoni, Italian sausage, and bacon.

Complete your meal with wings, the intriguingly-named ‘Crazy Bread’, or cinnamon bites. A minimum order of $20 is required for delivery, which costs $5 islandwide. Enjoy free delivery with orders above $65 – place your order via their website.

4. Swee Choon

(Source: Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant Pte Ltd / Facebook)

Mention supper hangouts and Swee Choon immediately comes to mind. Indeed, Swee Choon is a favourite supper haunt for many, serving piping hot dim sum late into the night. However, who’s to say that you can’t have dim sum at any time of day?

Dig into xiao long paus, siew mais, har gaos, char siew paus, and the like. A definite highlight is the fried mee suah kueh. If you would like, you can even stock your fridge with their frozen dim sum – and defrost them whenever you wish. Swee Choon also has a WFH Survival Meal package, which includes hot food for two to three persons, as well as two types of frozen dim sum of your choice.

A minimum order of $35 will entitle you to $5 islandwide delivery; takeaways can also enjoy a 15 per cent discount.

5. Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory

(Source: Chir Chir Singapore / Facebook)

Fuel your next K-drama binge session with Korean fried chicken from Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory – perfect for a cosy night in. Indulge in their Honey Butter Chicken, and Spicy Chilli Soy Chicken; or their new additions, such as Vampire Killer, and Sour Cream and Onion Chicken. Take your meal up a notch with some spicy Tteokbokki, or Chir Cheese Fries.

Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory’s delivery system allows you to order Korean dishes from other restaurants in the same order: grab a stew from Masizzim, or go all out with a Ppong and pizza bundle from Nipong Naepong. Be spoilt for choice with all the options here.

A minimum spend of $100 will entitle you to $5 off delivery fees from 16 May to 13 June 2021. Otherwise, a minimum order of $50 will allow you to enjoy a flat $8 delivery fee islandwide.

6. Beauty In The Pot

(Source: Paradise Group)

Combat the rainy spells with a comforting hotpot. Bring the magic of Beauty In The Pot to your home, and revel in their six different broths that embody the concepts of health and beauty. Savour their individual sets, which come with a variety of ingredients, on top of a ready-to-eat Collagen Broth Poached Rice.

For ease of ordering, they also have sets suitable for four, six, or eight people. The sets even come with a steamboat pot and induction cooker. Takeaway orders enjoy 20 per cent off the total, with islandwide delivery at $8 for minimum orders of $70. Orders with a minimum of $120 can enjoy free delivery too – available for ordering on Oddle Eats.
