The festive season is a welcomed treat for anyone looking for a merry good time with friends and family. With many restrictions in place due to COVID, this upcoming holiday season may be a little different than that spent in previous years. Many may choose to stay in and gather with family, or have a cosy party with friends instead of heading out.
But for some, the idea of hosting a dinner for loved ones — or if you’re spending time with your lovely self, thinking of what food to prepare for your solo retreat in front of the TV — can be stressful.
7-Eleven has preempted this concern and provided a solution to the festive fiasco we all want to avoid. Take the hassle out of your party planning — with their festive pre-order programme, there’s no need to shop around as all essentials can be conveniently pre-ordered at 7-Eleven around the clock.
Pre-ordered food and fun
Choose from an array of cold cuts, dessert ideas, French champagnes and fun family games to keep loved ones fed and entertained. Here are some options you can try:
Starters
A party buffet woudn’t be complete without appetisers! The cold cuts on these platters come pre-sliced and include a charcuterie board, saving you time and effort which allows you to spend more time out of the kitchen and with your guests.
For meat-lovers, try the Christmas Salami Platter ($19.90) which includes Beef Bresaola (100g), a lean dried salted beef, and Beef Salami (50g) or the Christmas Ham Platter ($16.90) which includes Smoked Chicken Breast Ham (150g) and Beef Salami (50g) made using premium cuts of meat from Australia and New Zealand. Both platters do not contain any added MSG or artificial flavours, and pre-orders end on 11 December.
Desserts
If you haven’t heard, burnt cheesecake is all the rage. Now you can get your hands on a hassle-free version that takes a quick pop into the microwave to serve! The Goomedo Burnt Cheesecake ($9.90), which halal-certified and can be pre-ordered by 18 December, is a deliciously sinful dessert with its characteristic caramelised topping and creamy, gooey interior.
And how can you go wrong with a bites of Häagen-Dazs ice-cream to end off your festive feast? In a collaboration with TinyTAN, a gang of seven animated characters representing every member of the popular boyband BTS, the ice-cream brand is launching the limited-edition Häagen-Dazs TinyTAN Ice Cream Bites Special Edition ($98). Flavours included are cookies & cream, strawberry, vanilla, coffee, macadamia nut, chocolate, and caramel biscuit & cream. Pre-order by 22 December to avoid disappointment.
Bubbly
Celebrate your friends and family (and even yourself!) by toasting to a joyous occasion of merriment through these two fine French champagnes that can be conveniently pre-ordered (by 5 January 2021) and picked up from all 7-Eleven stores. There’s the Champagne Jacquart Brut Mosaique ($55.90) which has fruity grape and pear hints and a long-lasting finish, and goes wonderfully with chicken, turkey and seafood; and Champagne Cattier Brut Icône ($59.90), a fresh tasting champagne made from a blend of Pinot and Chardonnay grapes, a perfect accompaniment to poultry and savoury starters.
Games
Cut down on screen time and try these games from Singaporean brand Play Nation. Among the 21 games available are some unique Singapore themed titles, like THE SINGAPOREAN DREAM ($20), an interactive card game where you can pay, steal or sabo your way to become the perfect Singaporean; or Kopi King ($20), a fast and fun family game in which players must juggle and complete orders of our favourite coffee shop drinks. The games range from $20 to $40 and can be pre-ordered by 22 December 2020.
