The Oppo Find N2 Flip, was released in Singapore in March 2023 to much fanfare. Retailing at S$1,299, the latest edition in Oppo’s foldable phone series comes packed with new specs, features and looks.One of the most alluring aspects of the Oppo N2 Flip is its design. It is probably the best-looking foldable flip phone in the market right now, available in Moonlit Purple and Astral Black.The Moonlit Purple is easy on the eyes sporting a classy and pearlescent, almost pastel purple. From the silver accents on the sides of the phone, the two cameras fitting neatly on the back and the subtle pearlescent swirl on the Oppo logo in the middle of the phone, every part of the phone is intricately designed.Another draw of this flip phone is its small form factor. Fully opened, the Find N2 Flip is about 166.2mm long, 75.2mm wide and 7.45mm thick. When closed, the phone is about 85.5mm long, 75.2mm wide and 16.02mm thick. The thickness while closed, is certainly more than regular phones out there, but it would fit in most pockets and compartments without issue. The Oppo Find N2 Flip weighs 191g, which is just slightly heavier than the Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip4. One thing that it lacks however, is any waterproofing or water resistance. The many screens of the Find N2 FlipOppo has done an incredible job at hiding the crease of its main screen thanks to the latest generation of Flexion Hinge. The 6.8 inch 120hz AMOLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 supports HDR10+, looks and feels good to use.The crease can be seen if you are actively looking for it, but is hardly noticeable when you are using the phone normally. It can be felt slightly if you are touching the middle of the phone, but it is not that jarring to be a problem.Oppo has done an incredibly good job at hiding the crease thanks to the latest generation of Flexion Hinge. It is a 3.26 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 382 and worthy of appreciation as it conforms to the overall design of the phone.From the front screen, you are able to access settings, notifications and answer messages from messaging apps using customised phrases. You can also access the camera and other widgets but it is not as extensive as it could be currently. There are fun customisation options available like the interactive pet live wallpaper.Performance & General UseThe Find N2 Flip has a 4300mAh battery and Oppo claims that combined with SuperVOOC charging, it can be charged to 50 per cent capacity in just 23 minutes. Unfortunately, the phone does not support wireless charging.The phone has both facial recognition and a thumbprint reader on the power button which works reasonably well and quickly.The blend of processing and bytes make for a smooth overall experience. (Photo source: TheHomeGround Asia)The Find N2 Flip runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor, 8GB of RAM and has 256GB of internal storage. Running on Android 13 using Oppo’s ColorOS 13 brings a ton of customisability to the phone.The Find N2 Flip also comes packed with the Mali G710 graphics processor. I tested a myriad of games like Call of Duty Mobile, Rocket League Sideswipe, Vampire Survivors and Mario Kart Tour. Everything ran well, with no discernable lag. A smooth experience overall.Find N2 Flip’s CameraThe Find N2 Flip sports a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP selfie camera. Oppo has once again collaborated with Hasselblad for its Natural Colour Solution and master filters. This can be utilised through the Pro photo mode while shooting in raw. The results from the Pro photo mode were quite impressive.X-Pan mode also returns with the Find N2 Flip, which emulates the classic vintage-style panoramic photos from Hasselblad’s X-Pan format. It is a nifty feature to have but its novelty runs out pretty fast.Oppo’s Pro photo mode delivers an impressive experience thanks to Hasselblad’s Natural Colour Solution and master filters. (Photo source: TheHomeGround Asia)You can record videos up to 1080p 60fps and 4K 30fps, although there is no HDR video recording available.Since the phone can be folded halfway, you can use it without a stand or tripod. Oppo calls this FlexForm mode. You can snap photos via gestures for a seamless experience.The front screen can also be used as a preview screen so that people getting their photo taken can see what they look like and it allows you to take easy selfies using the rear camera. The overall design is amazing and it is packed with a bunch of features. Oppo has taken advantage of the form factor of a flip phone with the Find N2 Flip and it really shows.
