JD first broke into the media industry as a writer, writing his first series in Kes253, a crime series broadcasted in Mediacorp. He went on to create series and show running them like Run, Rachael, Run and On the Rocks for MeWatch. He created Queen of Hearts, a five part series that won World Best Series at the Sao Paulo Web Fest in 2019.
