Flower Obsession: Plant Collecting in East Asia, 1600s–1900s

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Flower Obsession: Plant Collecting in East Asia, 1600s–1900s is the first exhibition at the Botanical Art Gallery to feature artworks from two important overseas institutions: Higashiyama Botanical Gardens and the private Soukaen Bunko (Nagoya, Japan). The exhibition includes about 100 items including printed books, manuscripts and photographs dating from the late 1600s to the early 1900s, many of which have not been exhibited outside Japan before.

This is an exciting opportunity to see works that reflect important developments in botanical illustration in East Asia, so come on down to the Botanical Art Gallery at the Singapore Botanic Gardens now!
