The Con-Heartist

2021 is finally upon us. Have you made your New Year resolutions

For one, I know I am planning to catch the latest blockbusters in theatre after the long gruelling period of time at home. The immersive experience in cinematic theatre indeed takes film watching to a whole new level. Let’s start the year by supporting local theatres with our family and friends!

Here’s a list of films perfect to start your January with.

The Rescue (Mandarin)

Starring Eddie Peng, The Rescue is the third instalment that pays homage to Chinese public personnel. While the first film, Operation Mekong (2016), features the policemen, the second film, Operation Red Sea (2018), showcases the navy’s prowess, The Rescue illustrates the personal and professional lives of personnel from China Rescue & Salvage, the Chinese Ministry of Transport.

Captain Gao Qian (Eddie Peng) leads a team to search for survivors after an explosion at sea. The film has succinctly accentuated the perils of the job as these professionals put their lives on line for their duty.
