Handball in Singapore: How the Sport is Coping During the Pandemic

COVID-19 has disrupted many industries and sports is not exempted. For team sports like handball, the impact is greater with teams having to conduct separate trainings in accordance to government roll-outs on gatherings.

From Phase 1 to Phase 3, the athletes from Singapore Men’s National Handball team had to adapt to drastic changes but they remain optimistic about the future of the sport — their next big challenge: the 2021 SEA Games.

TheHomeGround Asia spoke to the athletes, their coach, and an executive committee member of the Singapore Handball Federation to learn about how the team is coping with the pandemic and what we can look forward to in the local handball scene.
