In November, we will see not one but two members of 2PM in two very different historical dramas on Viu. We will also witness Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynold and Dwayne Johnson in an action-packed, globe-trotting heist. We are certain your favourite TV streaming services Netflix, Viu and Disney+ will have you glued in front of the screen for hours on end.
Secret Royal Inspector & Joy
In Secret Royal Inspector & Joy, second-generation boyband 2PM’s rapper Ok Taec-yeon gives viewers a glimpse of what life as a free-spirited, lazy and clumsy royal inspector in the Joseon era would be like. Unwillingly assigned as a royal inspector, Ok’s character Ra Yi-eon was dispatched to different parts of the land to conduct undercover investigations on corrupted officials. He teams up with a divorcée Kim Jo-Yi (Kim Hye-yoon), who is searching for happiness. Directed by Yoo Joo-sun of Descendants of the Sun, this comedy series is likely to have you rolling with laughter. This is Ok’s first debut in a period series.

Now, We Are Breaking Up
Acclaimed South Korean actress Song Hye-kyo joins princely model-turned-actor Jang Ki-yong in this highly-anticipated K-drama. In Now, We Are Breaking Up, Song plays a no-nonsense team leader of a design team at a fashion start-up, who was emotionally wounded by her ex; while Jang plays a rich and popular freelance photographer. The k-drama attempts to paint a realistic portrait of love and breakups in the fashion industry. They are joined by Choi Hee-seo and Park Hyo-joo.
Now, We Are Breaking Up will be streaming on Viu from 12 November 2021.
Red Notice
The new feature film by Netflix is a star-studded affair, featuring Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. In Red Notice, FBI’s top profiler (Johnson) and renowned conman (Reynolds) form an unlikely alliance to arrest the world’s most wanted art thief (Gadot). The budget for this globetrotting heist thriller, filmed in the US and several locations in Italy, was reportedly around $200 million. Interestingly, several major movie distributors had jostled over the rights for the movie before Universal Pictures acquired them but as it turns out, Universal Pictures eventually balked at the sight of the movie’s expenses and Netflix stepped in to give it the green light, making it Netflix’s biggest budget commitment to date.

The Red Sleeve
2PM’s Lee Junho and Lee Se-young star in this brand new South Korean historical romance drama The Red Sleeve. In the trailer, Se-young, who plays a court lady, is seen penning a letter of apology to Junho who plays Emperor Yi San. He smiles when receiving the letter. This paints the beginning of an imperial court romance.
The Red Sleeve will be streaming on Viu from 13 November 2021.
Tick, Tick … Boom!
“I have an original rock musical … that I have spent the last eight years of my life writing,” says Andrew Garfield’s character Jon, a young theatre composer who waits tables, some 20 seconds into the trailer. For the uninitiated, Jon is Jonathan Larson, the composer and playwright who passed on due to an aortic dissection at 35 years old in 1996, right before the debut of his would-be hit musical “Rent”. And yes, we know where this musical film is headed towards. In Tick, Tick … Boom!, director Lin Manuel-Miranda and Garfield attempts to bring Larson’s autobiographical tale of his struggle to make music to the silver screen.
Tick, Tick … Boom! will be streaming on Netflix from 19 November 2021.
Cowboy Bebop
Netflix’s live-action adaption of the otherwise Japanese anime Cowboy Bebop boasts action, humour and thrill in this ten-episode package. Starring John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black and Danielle Pineda as Faye Valentine, the trio forms a scrappy, snarky crew who set out to be bounty hunters in the year 2071. According to Entertainment Weekly, Cho was in in a “freak accident” where he seriously injured his knee on set, requiring surgery and delaying production by seven to nine months. Fans of the original anime will be happy to know that the original voice actors will return to voice the Japanese dubbed version of the live-action series.

New World
Six celebrities — actor Lee Seung-gi (Mouse and A Korean Odyssey), rapper Eun Ji-won, SUPER JUNIOR’s Kim Hee-chul, actress and model Jo Bo-ah (Tale of the Nine-Tailed), comedian Park Na-rae, and EXO’s Kai — are put on an island, where they have to find ways to earn virtual currency before their stay there draws to a close. From collecting valuable trinkets around the island to completing random tasks, the star-studded reality TV show promises a lot of chaos, fun and entertainment. And yes, the person with the most in-game currency will cash his or her earnings out for real money.
New World will be streaming on Netflix from 20 November 2021.
Hawkeye
Post Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios has doled out several side stories, profiling beloved superheroes or ‘Avengers’ after their victory against Thanos. Joining this awesome slew of side stories is Hawkeye or Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), who still has not quite gotten over the sacrifice of his best friend Black Widow. As Marvel Studios’ first Christmas-themed Avenger spinoff flick, we get to see Barton cooperating with 22-year-old archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), who seems to call herself the new ‘Hawkeye’, to thwart certain evil.
