Review: Oppo Find X3 Pro

The Find X3 Pro, Oppo’s flagship mobile device, was released in March. Retailing at S$1,599, it delivers an incredible handheld experience, along with a sleek and clean design.

Overall feel and design

The Find X3 Pro comes in gloss black or blue and retains the slim and sleek design that is characteristic of earlier Oppo phones. The curve edge design of the phone extends to the island of cameras at the back, making the phone look more seamless. The phone weighs 193g and is 8.3mm thick, making it slightly heavy, but on par with other flagship phones in the market. The phone is encased with gorilla glass 5 on both sides and is IP68 dust and water resistant.

Audio

The phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, but Oppo includes a pair of USB-C earphones along with the Find X3 Pro.

There is a dual loudspeaker setup located at the bottom of the phone that provides good sound quality.

Battery

It has a 4500mAh battery that provides a day-and-a-half of normal usage, which is decent. The phone supports 30W wireless charging capabilities and comes with 65W SuperVOOC wired charging system that is very reliable, and provides fast charging times. The phones also supports reverse wireless charging that enables you to charge other phones on the go too, which is handy.

Display and performance

The Find X3 Pro runs on Android 11 with ColorOS that provides a variety of personalisation options, which is great. You can easily change your phone’s theme, wallpaper, fonts, app layouts and a whole bunch of other settings.

The Find X3 Pro runs on a Snapdragon 888, 12gb RAM and an AMOLED display with 120hz refresh rate, experiencing video and gaming content on the phone is seamless and snappy. The display, which also supports HDR10+, brings vibrant colours with crisp and clear imagery. It also has 256GB of storage, which is useful since it does not support expandable storage.

Camera

Snap amazing pictures with the array cameras available on the Find X3 Pro. It sports a 50MP wide, 13MP telephoto, 50MP ultra-wide and a 3MP micro-lens. Both the ultra-wide and wide cameras are able to capture amazing images, especially paired with Oppo’s AI colour technology. The micro-lens basically turns the Find X3 Pro into a portable microscope, being able to zoom in up to 60x on a macro level, allowing users to snap interesting micro-level pictures of objects.

All in all, the Find X3 Pro is a mighty phone filled with premium features, and is comparable to other major flagship phones in the market.
