This showcase is a collaboration bertween ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase (AFDS) and digital platform Thehomeground Asia (THG) and W Singapore – Sentosa Cove in a bid to help raise awareness and appreciation for the unique style and diversity in the ASEAN region, and to promote greater cross-cultural and creative collaboration between ASEAN and International fashion partners from across the globe.

EVENT SCHEDULE

Very few names and monikers in the Asian Fashion Industry carry such weight and prominence as Hayden Ng (海登). A name synonymous with breath-taking innovation and sophisticated artistry. This self-taught icon built his name and reputation from grass roots upwards since first emerging in the scene 3 decades ago, making him a popular name among celebrities, beauty pageant tittles holders and professional women.

Edwin Uy has created a name in the Philippine fashion industry because of his beautiful and unique bridal ensembles. He balances creativity and wearability that appeala to so many brides. He is also known for his versatility as a couturier because apart from his bridal and evening wear collections, he creates fabulous showstopping costumes as well for top artists and celebrities in their major concerts and special events.

Dubai based fashion designer, Fadzil Hadin was born in Brunei and was introduced to fashion at a very young age. His mother’s clothing atelier, CHANTIQUE, had a great influence on Fadzil’s life and that’s what made him pursue a career in fashion design. Fadzil Hadin is an esteem pioneer member and fashion ambassador of the ASEAN Fashion Designer Showcase representing Brunei Darussalam.

Min Thu Ryein started his atelier - Maison Min Thu Ryein mode et Design in 2011 and started his own production workshop with 6 full time staff in 2013. In 2015, Min Thu Ryein was 3rd runner up in Myanmar’s hit reality fashion design show “Style Secret”. His work is recognized as well-made, colourful, playful and inventive. Inspired by popular culture, his signature twist on classic tailoring and bespoke style has won him a strong following.

Lisa's fashion style is androgynous, masculine cultivating a minimalist, streamlined look that relied on sublime tailoring and good fabric choice. Despite her busy schedule, Lisa also teaches and provides training to small and medium entrepreneurs on textile and design knowledge. She is also a sort after judge of fashion design competitions and serves as the Vice chairman of Business Development in Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC).

Bandid Lasavong, a talented and passionate young Lao, left his career as an engineer to pursue his dream of fashion. Seeing the need for well-tailored menswear in the emerging Lao market, he started his atelier – MEN Folder that provides customisation services that appeal to the modern day Lao men’s needs. Since its humble beginning, MEN Folder has been dressing many Lao celebrities in the entertainment scene and many high-profile state events.
