Many of us will be using this time to be with friends and family, so we’ve helped you out by compiling a list of places you can visit this festive long weekend!
1. Jurong Lake Gardens
Soak in the serenity at Jurong Lake Gardens while admiring the stunning lanterns of famous landmarks hand-crafted by 100 professional lantern masters. As we usher in the new year, “A Better Tomorrow” Festival of Lights 2020 urges us to imagine a better and brighter year ahead.
The lanterns feature famous landmarks from all over the world such as the Sydney Opera House in Australia and Mt. Fuji in Japan. Being stuck in Singapore doesn’t mean we can’t still admire the wonders of the world!
“A Better Tomorrow” Festival of Lights 2020 will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily until 3 January 2021.
2. Lego Festive Carnival
Christmas Day might be over but the festive spirit continues in 13 Capitaland malls islandwide! LEGO has taken over 13 Capitaland malls (including Funan, Junction 8, Plaza Singapura, and Tampines Mall, among others) as part of their largest LEGO Festive Carnival in Southeast Asia.
With carnival-themed installations built entirely out of the iconic LEGO bricks, these features are both eye-catching and interactive – great fun for the young at young-at-heart! Interactive installations are available at certain locations, such as the 20-metre and 15-metre Rock & Roller Coaster at Plaza Singapura and Junction 8 respectively.
Those looking for a bout of retail therapy after a long and dreary year can also look forward to festive cashbacks and spend-and-win lucky draws when shopping at these malls. Other perks include exclusive WhatsApp stickers, a social media challenge, and ways to give back during the festive season.
3. HomeTeamNS Khatib Peranakan-Themed Indoor Playground
Kids bursting with energy during the year-end holidays? Take them out to burn off some of that zeal at Singapore’s first Peranakan-themed indoor playground!
Sporting vibrant colours and Peranakan-inspired designs, the 7,000 square feet space features various areas such as a “Dragon Playground” slide tower, a sport pitch, a foam ball shooting arena, an interactive trampoline, a ball pit, and a ninja course.

4. National Museum of Singapore (NMS)
Reminisce Singapore’s history and embrace the quintessential Singaporean culture at NMS’ new exhibition – Home, Truly: Growing up with Singapore, 1950s To The Present.
Showcasing over 200 photographs from national archives and public contributions, as well as over 80 artefacts from the national collection, the exhibition aims to explore what living and growing up in Singapore has been like across the generations.
Beyond just the stories of Singaporeans, the exhibition will also shed light on those of migrant workers, Singaporeans overseas, and the children of Nepalese Gurkha officers who once called Singapore home.
The exhibition will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, with last admissions at 6.30 p.m. Entry to the exhibition is free. More information can be found here.
5. Porsche’s #DrivingTomorrow Exhibition at Changi Jewel
This one’s for the car junkies among us! Porsche has unveiled its #DrivingTomorrow exhibition at Jewel Changi Airport, which showcases the brand’s long history and modern efforts in electrification and sustainability.
Visitors can look forward to seeing the Porsche 356, Porsche’s first production vehicle, as well as the Porsche Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle, in the flesh. Better yet, visitors will be able to embark on an on-screen test drive of the Porsche Taycan through Virtual Reality (VR) technology!
The pop-up exhibition is located on the second floor of Jewel Changi Airport, units 207-208. It is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, running until 16 January 2021.
