The Malaysian burger, better known as Ramly burger, began in 1979, when Muslim butcher Haji Ramly Monki found it impossible to ascertain whether the meat peddled by street vendors in Kuala Lumpur was halal. So, he set up shop to sell his own and the Ramly burger was born.

Today, there are stalls and shops dotted all over Malaysia and Singapore, selling Ramly burger.

In this episode of MAKAN WARS, we chow down on the Ramly burgers from two popular places here to see which tastes the closest to the original.

Follow our hosts Adi Rahman and Kevin Wong as they bite into the juicy meat patties, each enveloped in an eggy parcel, to determine which one is the better burger.
