We do not know about you but the recent bouts of stormy weather have made us nostalgic for endless sunny days. Recent patterns show clear weather for the first half of the day, followed by thundery showers in the second half. Why not make the best of both worlds?

Here are some dry- and wet-weather activities to tide you over this period:

1. Circuit Tiki at Resorts World Sentosa

(Source: KF1 Karting Circuit)

Stage your own Fast and Furious movie at Circuit Tiki, a daring go-kart extravaganza at Resorts World Sentosa. Say hello to Singapore’s first indoor karting circuit, which invites you to take a whirl around RWS’ carpark. Available until 30 June 2021, the circuit spans a distance of 550 metres, and encompasses 23 turns. There are two circuits – the novice one allows you to go at a speed of 25 km/h, while the advanced fuels your need for speed at 40 km/h.

Covered shoes are mandatory; helmets and hair nets will be provided at the venue. Drivers will also have to be at least 1.4 metres tall. Secure your go-kart timing by calling the hotline at 6252 0777, or by dropping [email protected] an e-mail. If you like being spontaneous tickets are also available on-site, but are subject to availability.

Price per 10-minute session:

  • Novice: S$18 for RWS members; S$28 for the public
  • Advanced: S$25 for RWS members; S$35 for the public (do note that a valid driving license is required for this circuit)

2. Refurbished Rail Corridor

Get some fresh air, and enjoy the warm rays of sun – before it starts to pour – along the Rail Corridor, which has reopened to the public after a long refurbishment, since July 2019. Start from the railway bridge – also known as Bukit Timah truss bridge – and make your way to Hillview MRT Station. This will span a distance of around four kilometres, with various themed sections, such as Kampung Garden, Rainforest and Ridgeline.

Enjoy getting back to nature, see if you can spot any wildlife along the way, and feast your eyes on plenty of splendid views.

3. Farm Day Out at City Sprouts

(Source: City Sprouts / Facebook)

City Sprouts’ mission is plain and simple, and that is to “breathe new life to forgotten spaces and communities”. By cultivating an appreciation for urban rejuvenation across multi-generational communities, City Sprouts aims to bring together people from all walks of life. And if you’re still experiencing the Easter fever from last weekend, this might just be the event for you!

Check out the special Easter-themed edition of Farm Day Out, which will play host to a variety of workshops, activities, and so on. Meet adorable bunnies, learn all about microgreens, create a community art piece with recycled materials, attend a natural pigment workshop, or participate in a hands-on skin drumming circle. You’ll even get the chance to chat with urban farmers, and learn all about what, and why, they do what they do.

4. Solemates Gin Run

(Source: eventbrite)

Now, this is one fun event that all the adults would approve of. Get all sweaty at the SoleMates Gin Run, the upcoming sequel to the successful SoleMates Beer Run. Run with a view by the bay for around four kilometres, which has three pitstops along the way. These are at Le Noir Marina bay Sands, Brewerkz One Fullerton, and Chimi’s, where you can refuel with tacos, and a total of gin and tonic/sodas.

The Solemates Gin Run is happening from 5-7pm every Sunday from 11 April to 27 June 2021. After all, who needs Gatorade when you can have gin instead? Book your tickets here. Bottoms up!
