After using the Vivo X50e for a week, here’s what I think of the phone.

Overall feel and design

The phone is sturdy and well built. At 8.99mm, I find the thickness just right. The diamond-shaped frame for the camera is an interesting design, compared to the more common rectangular designs on other phones. It supports expandable storage with micro-SD cards and is also dual-SIM compatible. However, the second SIM card slot is also a shared slot with the micro-SD card so you can’t have both SIM cards and expandable storage at the same time.

Audio quality

The single speaker at the bottom of the phone is quite decent. It can get quite loud from our tests. The best feature of the phone is the inclusion of an AK4377a Hi-Fi chip with a 32-bit DAC and amplifier. This allows the phone to produce high quality audio through wired headphones or earphones. The phone is also capable of playing high quality .FLAC files locally and has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which compliments the best feature of the phone.

Camera

The camera functions are basic and expected from a mid range phone. Under good lighting conditions, images produced will be quite decent.

Battery

The 4350mAh battery provides ample amount of juice for the phone to run on with a single charge. We managed to get just over three days of moderate, general use before needing to charge. The hefty charging adapter provides 33w fast charging. The phone does not support wireless charging unfortunately.

Display and performance

The AMOLED display is quite standard among other mid range and budget phones. However, it’s still a decent screen, displaying crisp, and vibrant imagery.  The combination of the Snapdragon 765G and 8gb of RAM is good enough for everyday use and casual gaming. Performance heavy games might struggle.
