What memories bind us together as Singaporeans, and what makes this home, truly?
Step into @ Home, Truly: A Digital Experience, and join nine-year-old Nadine and her beloved Gong Gong (Mandarin for “Grandfather”) as they converse with each other about living and growing up in Singapore. Discover lesser-known facts and quirks about our home, and relive memories of shared spaces and experiences, as the pair explores topics such as National Day Parades through the years, places of recreation, cultural festivals, and campaigns. Watch each chapter unfold, featuring endearing illustrations by various local artists, archival photos and videos, and even games and quizzes.
This experience is the digital companion to Home, Truly: Growing Up with Singapore, 1950s to the Present, an exhibition running from December 2020 to August 2021 at Exhibition Gallery 2, National Museum of Singapore, presented in collaboration with The Straits Times. While the digital experience touches on some of the themes that are explored in the exhibition, the digital experience offers exclusive content not featured in the physical exhibition, whereas the exhibition presents a greater wealth of topics and materials, as well as other interactive possibilities.
